July 7 - Boat Tour

Humpback whale tail. This male has been tracked for 3 years through his tail ID. The tail or fluke as it’s called is unique to each whale like a fingerprint. And by taking an image of the tail and uploading to a special app, the whale can be identified and tracked if it has been uploaded before. Friday July 3 - end of day and I've driven about 700 km since arriving on The Rock. But with the construction slow downs it feels like more. The scenery on the west side of Newfoundland is stunning.
